Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and forward-thinking DC Electrical Technician to manage complex electrical diagnostics, repair, and maintenance across our fleet of lorries, excavators, and other heavy machinery. This role requires expertise in both traditional wiring systems and modern vehicle technology, including ECU diagnostics and high-standard wiring protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Diagnostic Expertise:
- Perform advanced electrical diagnostics and troubleshooting on heavy vehicles and machinery using specialized diagnostic tools and software.
2. Wiring & Repair:
- Repair, replace, and install complex DC wiring harnesses, components, and electrical systems in lorries and excavators.
3. ECU Systems Management:
- Interface with modern Electronic Control Units (ECUs) for diagnostics, parameter adjustments, and fault resolution.
4. System Upgrades:
- Understand and implement repairs compatible with high-standard wiring cable systems prevalent in updated machinery.
5. Maintenance:
- Conduct preventative maintenance on electrical systems to ensure maximum machine uptime and reliability.
6. Collaboration:
- Work closely with mechanical technicians to diagnose inter-related mechanical and electrical faults.
7. Documentation:
- Maintain accurate records of all diagnostic procedures, repairs, and parts used.

Job Requirements
Requirements & Skills:
1. Experience:
- Proven experience as a DC Electrical Technician working specifically with heavy machinery (lorries, construction equipment, agricultural machinery).
2. Technical Knowledge:
- Comprehensive understanding of DC electrical circuits, schematics, relays, sensors, and actuators (12V/24V systems).
3. ECU Proficiency:
- Familiarity and practical experience using diagnostic tools and software to interface with ECUs and modern machinery computer systems.
4. Circuit Diagram Interpretation:
- Ability to read and interpret complex wiring diagrams, technical manuals, and electrical schematics.
5. Problem-Solving:
- Excellent analytical and systematic troubleshooting skills for complex electrical faults.
6. Adaptability:
- A strong commitment to ongoing professional development and staying updated with emerging vehicle electrical technologies.
7. Safety & Compliance:
- Adherence to all workshop safety standards and environmental regulations.
